*Position is located in the Nashville, TN area* Field Controls Engineer We currently have an opportunity for a Field Controls Engineer to aid in the installation and testing of electrical components, automation Controls and systems at customer locations. The individual will be required to troubleshoot, analyze and correct pneumatic, electrical and controls problems with ATC equipment at customer locations. Additional responsibilities include assisting the Design and Build Teams with the development of programs to operate equipment including the use of low level driver codes, high level SCADA codes and developing stand-alone SEQUEL applications. Individual will assist Design and Build teams with installation of new and upgraded automation systems at the customer’s plant. Individual will also troubleshoot and implement corrections to electrical hardware and controls code. This is a senior level position with expert programming and troubleshooting skills. Siemens experience highly desired. ** Heavy domestic travel will be required** This position reports to the team business unit manager. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Create and read pneumatic and electrical prints. Verify conformance of components to customer specifications. Create bill of materials. Perform test and de-bug activities. Develop complex programs to operate devices and machines. Use voltmeters, ammeters and oscilloscopes. Understand proper wiring methods. Have excellent computer skills and a high level of proficiency in software to design ladder logic and machine controls. Also possesses advanced programming skills in data base development and machine control. Communicate with customers to determine machine performance criteria. Have a thorough understanding electrical and pneumatic devices. Have disposition authority on rejects and rework. Lead and mentor other team members. Responsible for specifying components and working with component vendors to meet project budget Hardware knowledge (Hands on experience) PLC - Allen Bradley: CompactLogix, ControlLogix, SLC 500, PLC 5, MicroLogix, Siemens: 416, Square D: Symax 50, Festo: Smart Valve, HMI - Allen Bradley: Panelview, Panelview Plus, Siemens: TP, OP Series. Communications - Allen Bradley Ethernet I/P, ControlNet, Devicenet, Siemens: Profibus. Variable Frequency Drives - Allen Bradley Powerflex, SEW Eurodrive. Robotics – Denso, Epson, FANUC, (Staubli 6 and 4 axis robots,Bosch SCARA). Linear Actuators - Intelligent Actuator, Festo, Tolomatic, Rexroth. Servos – Allen Bradley: Kenetics 6000, SERCOS Servo Drive Interface, Yaskawa: SGDV, SGDH. Vision – Keyence / Panasonic / Cognex / DVT. Data Acquistion - Keithley: DAS-1400, DAS-1600, PIO-120 Software knowledge PLC - Allen Bradley: RSLogix 5000, RSLogix 500, Siemens: Step 7, Square D, Festo. HMI - Allen Bradley: FactoryTalk View Studio, RSView, PanelBuilder, Siemens: ProTool. Communications - Allen Bradley: RSNetworks, RSLinx, Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Siemens: Profibus. Robotics - Adept V+, QuickBasic. Servos - Allen Bradley: Kinetics 6000, SEW: Motion Studio. Application Development - Visual Basic v4.0, v5.0, v6.0, National Instruments LabWindows Ideal candidate should have a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or foreign equivalent and five (5) years or experience in the job offered or as a Systems Integrator in the automotive parts industry. This is a full-time salary position.
